FULL DESCRIPTION
Did I love a dream?
The faun, a creature of sylvan life, awakens from his mid-day sleep and contemplates his morning’s pursuit of alluring nymphs. In his reflections, the chase takes on libidinous proportions as he seeks to satisfy his desire.
It is a beautiful memory – but did it really happen? Images fade. Those delicious sensations that tease his mind grow vague, and he cannot recapture the events. Reality eludes him, confusion reigns, until he is no longer certain if he is remembering fact or fancy. Once again, he is overcome by sleep, which can only lead to more dreaming.
Inspired by Vaslav Nijinski, created in collaboration with Mx Justin Vivian Bond
In 1912, when Nijinsky danced the story in Paris, he created a scandal. Shameless, the critics declared. The carnal subtext of Mallarme’s poem had become an explicit expression of a sexual appetite. The ballet went beyond the sensual to a demonstration of powerful virility.
In this scent, find the relationship between the suggestive fantasy and the seductive reality. Then go ahead and make your own scandal.

I was dubious about buying this as I couldn't procure a sample and it's only available in 100ml. I needn't have worried. This scent is absolutely delightful, longer lasting than many other ELDO scents, and I can't get enough of it. (Please never discontinue this. 100ml will certainly not be enough!) Spicy, herbal, and slightly woodsy are all good descriptors, but like the ballet it's named after, it is more than the sum of its parts. This is the sexual melange of spices, herbs, florals (the immortelle, rose, and iris create a wonderful blend that has slight powder notes but is sultry) that one might expect from encountering a saytr in the woods and I'm enthralled. Certain scents can turn really powdery on my skin and this one avoids that. The dry down is herbal and spicy with a slight masculine rose note. For those familiar with ELDO scents, I'd say this lands between Hermann (less outright woodsy/fresh) and Attaquer Le Soleil (much more complex and herbal, but the projection/longevity is similar). I would caution that respraying/reapplying it too frequently brings out more of the herbal notes than the spices (not unpleasant, but it does change the scent). I am truly shocked this isn't more popular! Like the seminal ballet, this really is one of a kind and deserves higher praise.
Exactly where I'd expect a faun to be laying down - don't love the name, so often true with ELDO, I"m penty fond of this scent! Also, often true!
Obsessed with this! Gives me so many different notes and takes me to many different places in time. Work of art!
It's bitter but kinda sexy
This is one of my favorite Etat libre d’ orange colognes ever!! So Hypotonic, mystical, mysterious and delicious!
